Engineering Basis

Methodology

Summarizes observed source-water records using explicit data mapping, censoring rules, weighted statistics, quantiles, and user-selected design bounds. Calculation readiness means numerical and parsing readiness; the outputs do not establish physical plausibility, regulatory compliance, or future source-water conditions.

Percentiles use Hyndman–Fan Type 7 linear interpolation. Flow-weighted sample mean uses Σ(CᵢQᵢ)/Σ(Qᵢ). Volume-weighted interval mean uses Σ(CᵢQᵢΔtᵢ)/Σ(QᵢΔtᵢ) only with a mapped explicit positive duration. Calculation-ready data passed numerical and parsing rules; numeric validation does not confirm physical plausibility of user-defined parameters or units. The report describes observed records and user-selected design assumptions; it does not predict future water quality, establish regulatory compliance, or select a treatment process.

Scope / Limitations

  • Analyze observed samples, Type-7 quantiles, flow- or duration-weighted summaries, monthly and condition cases, and user-selected design bounds. It does not predict future source-water conditions.
