Privacy Policy

We collect only information needed to operate the current Platform and respond to requests.

• Contact form information: name, email address, optional company, selected reason, and message. The form also sends a language value used by the site.
• Inquiry and project information: technical specifications, questions, or other details you choose to include in your message. Please do not include unnecessary confidential or regulated information.
• Technical information: request, device, browser, and security information that may be processed by the infrastructure described in 03 Technical and Usage Data. The site does not require an account or payment information.

The current tools use two calculation paths.

Browser-local calculations

The Unit Converter, Pipe Friction and Pressure Drop Calculator, Pipeline Air Valve Geometry Screening, Ozone Dosing and CT Screening, Chemical Dosing Basis Calculator, Cooling Tower Water Balance and LSI Calculator, and Pneumatic Actuator Torque Comparator run their numerical calculations in the browser. The input values used by these tool components are not sent to a server for calculation.

Worker/server-backed calculations

Activated Carbon Sizing, RO System Designer, NF System Designer, UF/MF System Designer, Ion Exchange/CEDI Designer, and Isotherm Analyzer send calculation payloads from the browser to their respective Cloudflare Worker endpoints and receive results. Those inputs therefore leave the browser. The NF target-bypass algebra and Isotherm curve evaluation and display include client-side steps after the server response, but the primary NF and isotherm calculations remain Worker-backed.

The Worker source used by the Platform is stateless: no application database, KV, D1, R2, or application-level calculation logging was found. This does not establish what operational or security metadata a hosting or network provider may retain. ATLAS does not intentionally persist calculation inputs in the current application or associate them with an account identity.

When pages, assets, tools, or form endpoints are requested, infrastructure providers may process technical data such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested URL, date and time, referrer, response status, and network or security events. Firebase Hosting serves the static site; Cloudflare provides the deployed domain’s observed edge/network layer and the calculation Workers. Google Analytics 4 receives measurement events from the site, and Google Fonts may receive a request when the site loads its configured fonts. Formspree receives the request and submission fields sent to the configured contact endpoint.

The current implementation contains no separate performance-monitoring or application telemetry SDK beyond the Google Analytics 4 measurement tag. Provider-specific logging and retention settings are not configured in the current implementation and are not represented as fixed ATLAS retention periods.

We use information only as needed to:

• respond to contact and engineering inquiries;
• receive inputs and return results for Worker-backed engineering tools;
• serve, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Platform and reduce spam or abuse;
• measure aggregate site use and improve reliability and site performance where the current analytics configuration supports that purpose; and
• meet applicable legal, regulatory, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements.

We apply data minimization and do not request an account, payment details, or information unrelated to the stated purpose. For users in the EEA or UK, the processing context may support different legal bases: taking steps at your request or providing a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform, legal obligations, or consent where consent is actually requested and obtained. The current site does not contain a general consent flow, so we do not claim consent as the basis for every activity.

The current site uses limited browser storage:

• Language preference: the language switcher stores the selected language in localStorage under user-selected-lang; the home page reads it to support the next visit. This does not store calculation inputs.
• Calculation state: the active calculation components do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or a site preference store to persist calculation inputs.
• Analytics: the site loads Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to provide measurement; exact provider-managed storage is not controlled by the site code.
• Advertising and behavioral tracking: no advertising pixel, behavioral-advertising SDK, or cross-context behavioral advertising flow was found in the current implementation. Google signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled in the analytics configuration.

The site code does not manually set cookies or use a theme preference store. A third-party service may use its own essential cookies or similar technologies when it provides hosting, security, analytics, fonts, or form handling.

Service providers

• Google LLC / Firebase Hosting: serves the static Astro site from the Firebase Hosting project configured for the site.
• Cloudflare, Inc.: provides the observed edge/network and CDN/security layer for the deployed domain and runs the six calculation Workers: Activated Carbon Sizing, RO System, NF System, UF/MF System, Ion Exchange/CEDI, and Isotherm Analyzer.
• Formspree: receives submissions sent to the configured contact-form endpoint at Formspree and provides form handling. The current site has no ATLAS application persistence path for those submissions.
• Google Analytics 4: measures site use through the Google tag configured in the shared layout.
• Google Fonts: supplies font resources requested by the site’s configured stylesheet.

Disclosures required by law

ATLAS may disclose information to courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or other authorities when disclosure is required by applicable law, valid legal process, or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Platform. These authorities are recipients of a legally required disclosure, not ATLAS service providers.

No fixed ATLAS retention period for contact submissions, provider logs, analytics data, or security records is configured or verified in the current implementation. The current application does not intentionally persist calculation inputs, and browser-local inputs normally remain only in the active page unless you save or share them yourself. Formspree, Google, Firebase, Cloudflare, and other providers may apply their own retention practices to information they process; this policy does not invent durations that have not been verified.

ATLAS retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, Platform security and abuse prevention, legitimate business needs, and applicable legal or dispute-related requirements. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted, anonymized, or otherwise handled as appropriate and reasonably feasible.

ATLAS serves users globally. Information submitted through the contact flow and technical information generated when the Platform is used may be processed by Firebase/Google, Cloudflare, Formspree, Google Analytics, or Google Fonts in countries or jurisdictions different from your own. The location and routing of that processing can depend on each provider’s infrastructure. This policy does not assert a specific adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other transfer mechanism that has not been verified in the current project records.

Depending on your jurisdiction and the applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, portability, restriction of processing, or objection to particular processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future processing. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator or supervisory authority applicable to you.

To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify the request and may be unable to honor it where a lawful exception applies. Rights and response requirements are jurisdiction-specific; we do not promise that every right or deadline applies worldwide.

For California residents, the current implementation does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. This statement does not decide whether the California Consumer Privacy Act or another law applies to a particular person or activity, and no separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control is currently provided.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information and the Platform’s risks, including HTTPS endpoints for the current site’s form and Worker requests, access controls provided by our service providers, and data minimization. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Provider security controls and operational logs may be governed by the provider’s own systems and terms.

ATLAS is an engineering and professional reference platform and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect information from children through the current Platform. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

ATLAS may update the Privacy Policy when the Platform, technology, service providers, or applicable requirements change. The Last Updated date identifies the latest revision.

For privacy questions or requests, contact ATLAS at [email protected] or through our Contact page. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed to describe your request.
