Tools for Stage 01 — Influent & Acceptance Basis

Stage 01 · Source basis

Influent & Acceptance Basis

Set traceable flow, load, sampling, and source-acceptance boundaries.

Purpose

Establish traceable flow and constituent cases, sample provenance, variability, and any owner-declared industrial acceptance envelope before selecting treatment units.

Next decision

Choose headworks protection and decide whether declared time-varying flows require equalization.

Engineering questions

  • Which average, peak, minimum, and event flows govern?
  • Do concentration records pair with the same sample point and time basis?
  • Which source acceptance limits, compatibility flags, and data gaps must be declared?

Key inputs

  • Flow casesm³/d, m³/h
  • Temperature range°C
  • Measured pHpH
  • Constituent concentrationsmg/L
  • Sampling and acceptance recordsproject basis

Key outputs

  • Flow casesm³/d, m³/h
  • Constituent concentrationskg/d
  • Sampling and acceptance recordsproject basis

Design Considerations

  • An influent basis does not certify source acceptance, compatibility, or regulatory classification.
  • Industrial toxicity, biodegradability, inhibition, and neutralization demand require representative evidence; they are not inferred from total COD or pH.

02 — Parallel Process Systems

Parallel Process Systems

Parallel branches connect to the liquid train where residuals are generated and handled.

Residuals & Sludge

A parallel solids path receives primary sludge, biological WAS, chemical solids, screenings/grit, and tertiary wastes; declared liquid returns reconnect to the plant balance.

03 — Plant-wide Design Systems

Plant-wide Design Systems

These systems support multiple process stages and do not add sequential stages to the treatment train.

Plant Water / Mass Balance

Reconcile declared flows and one constituent today; a wastewater network extension is planned for named solids/components and sidestream returns.

SHARED · COMING SOONPlant Water & Mass Balance — Wastewater Network ExtensionExtend the current one-constituent balance to named wastewater water, solids, recycle, transformation, and sidestream-return boundaries.

Hydraulics / Pumping

Use the existing sequential HGL screen within its segment limits; wastewater channels, EGL/TDH, and connected pump-duty review are planned extensions.

Chemical Systems

Process tools own chemistry and dose selection; shared tools convert an entered dose to feed, inventory, and storage needs.
